“Yoshindo Holdings Begins a New Chapter

In April 2026, Yoshindo Holdings made a fresh start.

To realize our corporate philosophy of “continuing to strive to be a company that is indispensable to people’s health and to society,” we integrated five group companies and began operating as the new Yoshindo Holdings.

Yoshindo was founded in 1929 in Toyama, a region long known as a center of the pharmaceutical industry, beginning with the manufacture of over-the-counter medicines under the name Shimomura Shoten. Since then, we have expanded our business into health foods and prescription generic pharmaceuticals in order to contribute to people’s health and to society. In 2013, we began manufacturing and selling infusion and dialysis solutions, and in 2019, we entered the biosimilar business.

To meet the needs of each era, our five group companies have worked together across their respective fields: the generic pharmaceutical business of Yoshindo Inc., the infusion and dialysis business of AY Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd., the biopharmaceutical business of Chemical Bio Research Co., Ltd., the health food business of Shinwa Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., and the headquarters and governance functions of Yoshindo Holdings Co., Ltd.

In recent years, globalization has accelerated rapidly, driven in part by the spread of generative AI. Social structures are changing at an extraordinary speed, and people’s needs are becoming more diverse by the day.

In this increasingly complex and uncertain environment, we chose integration so that we can respond more flexibly to the needs of people and society who seek better health. By strengthening the collaboration among our five companies, we aim to make faster decisions, share information more effectively, and operate our business with greater agility.
